Prayer
At Wayne Road Church, we believe in the power of prayer. “The prayer of a righteous person has great effectiveness” (James 5:16). If you stand in need of prayer, please leave your contact information and prayer request. We will reach out to you and pray for and with you.
Baptism
What is baptism for? Baptism is for remission of sins. Remission of sins means to have your sins forgiven. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23). The good news for all of us is that we do not have to stay in a sinful condition. Our sins can be forgiven and washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ, who suffered, died, was buried and rose again on the third day (1 Cor. 15:1-4). How? The Bible teaches us in Acts 2:38: “…Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” All of this is predicated upon our faith in Christ’s accomplished work. “The one who believes and is baptized will be saved…” (Mark 16:16).

Membership
Become a Member at Wayne Road Church of Christ
Are you looking for a church home? Wayne Road Church highly values its members. Membership simply means calling a specific church home and taking the responsibility to ensure its health and growth. It also means following the leadership’s direction of the local body: “Remember your leaders, who spoke God’s message to you; reflect on the outcome of their lives and imitate their faith” (Heb. 13:7). Moreover, it means fulfilling Christ’s mandate: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost…” (Mat. 28:19-20).

Giving
Why Do We Give?
We give out of our love for God, because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). God’s love was sacrificial love in that He GAVE His only begotten Son to atone for our sins. For this reason, God’s love stirs our heart to give not reluctantly or under compulsion, but cheerfully (2 Cor. 9:7). In addition, our giving is our sacrificial offering to God. “The earth is the LORD’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein” (Ps. 24:1). So, in this way, our giving expresses to God our gratefulness for His many blessings.
Moreover, giving is like sowing a seed. Here at Wayne Road, we believe in the law of reaping and sowing. “The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. And the person who sows generously will also reap generously” (2 Cor. 9:6). Lastly, contributing to the work of the church financially is an expression of worship in which it helps support the work in our community, grow the kingdom and spread the gospel (Acts 2:44-47).
